Re: BEST Eurobeat song OF ALL TIME?

"Blood on Fire" by Go 2 & Christine is still one of my all-time favorites, I think I left it out originally because it's a J-Pop cover, albeit a significant improvement over the 2005 AAA version. I don't think any other track off Super Eurobeat has ever left a greater impact on me. It was an absolu...

Re: BEST Eurobeat song OF ALL TIME?

"Story of My Life" by Christine has been my favorite eurobeat song for quite some time now. It creates such a lucidly dreamy soundscape, with lush production, introspectively affected lyrics, and a perfect sense of development. It's a song with limitless replay value for me. "Seventeen" by Ciao Cia...

Re: Looking for similar SEB tracks

Probably the easiest way to go about identifying similar tracks to the ones you listed would be, first, to figure out which label they came from, and second, to research what year they were made. Every label has its own highly distinct sound, which evolves over the course of time, but productions no...

Re: Forum upgrades

Well, at least I can post here now. I was getting worried for a moment that something corrupted my account and was going to prevent me from being able to sign in forever while everybody else was able to login just fine. I don't think many newcomers will be able to intuitively bypass the bot blocker,...

Some musicians don't really need the extra cash to make a living, but they are in the stark minority, especially today. There are hundreds of thousands of struggling artists without the backing of major labels who can only make so much by promoting their music online, so when a good percentage of t...

I do not agree with you, xiao. In the same way of thinking I could say 'I don't have the money for a luxurious vacation to Japan, so I should get it for free'. No, that's not how it works. People are (trying to) make a living out of music production. How would you feel if people told you to just do...

I don't understand why the labels don't put-up older music digitally myself either BUT I think it's that they just don't have faith that it'll sell, so why try ~ even though they've got nothing to lose. But they're right, sales would be abysmal, so they're interested in just making crisp new tracks...

To top it all off Avex doesn't really care what happens outside of their jurisdiction, cause they don't sell SEB outside of Japan. It's the eurobeat producers that have a problem with piracy, hence them taking EUROLOVERS down ~ not Avex. Get with the times SEB producers. Start a bandcamp if you rea...

You know, I just heard the samples for Delta's songs on here, and I have to give props - Capaldi finally changed up his production style after 9 years! Granted, it doesn't really sound better per se - it just blends in more with all of the other current labels with that overly stiff downbeat - but a...

1. Top 5 Times Eurobeat Went Right: 1. Promoting itself through Initial D - Far and large, eurobeat after the italo era became a cult phenomenon because of its regular use in the Initial D anime. It's of no coincidence that SEB sales peaked early during the show's run. A huge chunk of overseas listene...

Basically, everyone from Eurogrooves/Time. Their departure was probably the main reason why I stopped listening to Eurobeat, plus Avex's apathy. Bring them back! I agree, at least get some people involved again! They may not have churned out the most original lyrics, but their newer productions pac...
